Think about how fast information travels today. One false health claim can reach millions in seconds. Misinformation isn’t new. It has been around for decades, spreading through word of mouth, newspapers, or pamphlets, but social media has made it bigger, faster, and harder to stop.

In this committee, we'll explore how to fight back, how countries, organizations, and even individuals can work together to make sure accurate health information wins out in the digital age.

Passport Pending: The Borderline Debate (SOCHUM)

Across the world, immigration policies are tightening, and the question of how to balance national security with human rights has never been more urgent. In this SOCHUM committee, delegates will dive into the complex realities of migration, from detention centers and deportations to asylum systems and due process. How can nations protect their borders while upholding the dignity and safety of those seeking refuge? Through collaboration and debate, delegates will confront the moral, political, and humanitarian dimensions of modern immigration policy. After all, in this debate, everyone’s passport is pending.

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was founded in 1944 to unite the world through the skies, establishing safety, security, and cooperation in civil aviation, but modern era demands require modern era solutions. With air travel now an artery of globalization, the challenges facing ICAO extend far beyond runways and flight paths. Climate imperatives, airspace sovereignty, and the growing influence of private aerospace ventures have transformed the sky into both an opportunity for massive innovations and an arena of contention. Not only do countries play a major role, but corporations and the private sector have taken immense measures to make their presence known in the world’s aviation industry. Nations and companies work collaboratively to ensure that safety and efficiency are of top priority. The same air that connects nations also divides them between progress and preservation, equity and ambition. With the rapidly expanding aviation technologies becoming available, the world looks up in pursuit of sustainable flight and universal access, while many still alive today can remember it as a distant future. In this committee, delegates will have the opportunity to discuss ideas, compare research/data, and make compromises with each other to ensure the safety and security of international civil aviation.

What if your backyard suddenly felt like a rainforest, or the birds you see in spring became strangers? That is the world climate change is slowly creating, altering the Earth’s living code. Today, animals and plants are moving north, up mountains, or vanishing before they are even named, simply because places that were their normal habitat no longer feel like home. Living beings from bees to elephants are at risk, not just from heat, but from storms, fires, droughts, and weather that is changing the norms of survival.

Biodiversity is the secret ingredient that makes Earth so resilient. When this ingredient is threatened, Earth’s entire recipe is at risk. We all stand to lose as the ecosystems become fragile, food chains snap, and the stability humans rely on starts to unravel.

Yet, creative solutions are blooming around the world. Now, UN Members, this committee invites bold ideas—big or small—to protect Earth's wild variety, proving the world is as creative and adaptable as the nature we want to save.

Project Sentinental

Welcome to Project Sentinental, a specialized committee centered on the controversies surrounding Sentinental Technologies, a rising leader in artificial intelligence. After a wave of public accusations questioning the company’s recent ventures, and the fine line it walks between innovation and integrity, a select group of individuals has been brought together to determine the company’s future direction. Delegates will confront complex challenges surrounding the use of AI in security, including surveillance, cyber defense, and government efficiency, all while keeping in mind the ethical dilemmas of privacy and transparency. The decisions made in this room will not only define the future of Sentinental Technologies, but the future of AI in security.

Lord of the Rings: The Ashes of Barad-dûr

Meanwhile, whispers of another Ring, stronger than the One, emerge, drawing the attention of everyone in Middle Earth. The elves return to Middle-Earth sensing dark power rising once more. This committee will determine who controls Mordor, how magical items are regulated, and what military and leadership structures are required to prevent future threats.
